One Day for UK

Thank you for making One Day for UK a success!

In its first 24-hour giving day, the University of Kentucky raised more than $1 million from more than 3,000 donors.

"It was inspiring to see our community come together," said Anne Lichtenberg, director of annual giving. "The UK family truly showed what Kentucky can do."

On April 17, donors had the opportunity to support funds across campus that enhanced programs and colleges and furthered UK's outreach. The day also showed people the many areas they can support at UK.

"We had great participation across the board," said Sarah Fitzgerald, philanthropy specialist for donor relations who coordinated One Day for UK. "Both small and large units benefited from the day. The turnout was overwhelming and showed how much people love UK."

Of the 3,262 gifts that day, 450 were from first-time donors and nearly 600 came from UK faculty and staff, showing that UK employees are investing in the university's success.

All of the gifts from One Day for UK support Kentucky Can: The 21st Century Campaign, UK's comprehensive campaign to increase scholarship support, fund innovative research, advance health care, strengthen the alumni network, enhance UK's athletic programs and grow the university's endowment. UK is already halfway to its $2.1 billion campaign goal.

Thank you to everyone who supported One Day for UK. Information about the 2020 giving day will be coming soon.
