Matthew came to the University of Kentucky for its pharmacy program, but the Columbus, Ohio native has made Lexington his home. Active on campus and in the community, he is passionate about helping others.
“I have been involved on campus through the Center for Community Outreach, helping to connect people to the resources available,” Matthew said. “Though I am busy this year with school and as the president of the UK Student National Pharmaceutical Association, I try to give back whenever I can.”
In his second year on the Student Philanthropy Board, Matthew wants to promote the center for Student Philanthropy as a resource for students concerned about an issue in the community, a place where they can get support, advice and ideas for how to tackle the problem.
Working on his dual degree in the Martin School of Public Policy, Matthew is earning his master’s in public administration with the hopes that he can work in policy and program development after graduation to help close the health disparities gap and provide more opportunities for underrepresented students to pursue their interest in medicine.
